Man and youth charged for stabbing and robbery Sunday morning in Halifax 

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division Police have charged a man and a youth in relation to a stabbing and robbery that occurred this past Sunday in Halifax. 

On July 30 at approximately 2:45 a.m., police located a man suffering from stab wounds near the rear entrance of Halifax Regional Police Headquarters at 1975 Gottingen Street in Halifax. 

The 56-year-old man was walking in the area of Gottingen and Cogswell Streets when he was approached by two men who stole his wallet and stabbed him in the arm and abdomen. The man was attended to by EHS paramedics and transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

On August 2 at 6:06 p.m. the two suspects were arrested by patrol officers without incident in the 2000 block of Brunswick Street in Halifax. 

Twenty-nine-year-old Donald Earl Rhyno from Halifax, has been charged with robbery with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, carrying a concealed weapon and breach of a probation order. The 17-year-old youth has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of a sentence order. 

Rhyno is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court this afternoon to face these charges, and the youth is to appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court today to face these charges.
