Two men whose information was included as part of a list of people with outstanding warrants have been arrested.

In January, HRM Partners in Policing released a High Risk Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) Outstanding Warrant List to the public. The list contained nine people who have warrants for their arrest and are believed to reside in HRM. Jagit Singh Gill, who had a warrant from Saskatchewan, was added as police from there felt he might have travelled to Halifax. Gill was arrested several months ago by another police agency and investigators only learned of the arrest yesterday.

Today, officers from HEAT are travelling to Ontario to pick up Eric James MacKenzie who was arrested Saturday, April 14 after a Crime Stoppers tip was received as a result of his name being featured on this list. He will be returned to our jurisdiction tomorrow and will likely appear in court on Friday. The Outstanding Warrant Wanted List is available on the Internet at www.halifax.ca/police/HeatList. One person, Steven Douglas Skinner who is wanted for murder, remains on the current list. HRM Partners in Policing remind citizens not to approach him or try to take matters into their own hands. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police at 490-5016, RCMP at 244-7208 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
