(4:05 p.m.)   Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Vice Unit continue to ask for the public’s assistance in locating a U.S. citizen. Seventy-year-old Sarah Tessier Powell was last seen on September 30, 2012 on-board the Holland America cruise ship Veendam. The ship's next scheduled stops were Charlottetown, PEI, October 2; Sydney, NS, October 3 and finally Halifax, NS, October 4. There is no evidence to suggest that Sarah has met with foul play; however, it is believed she may have walked off the ship without being checked by security. It is not clear where she may have disembarked.Sarah is a white woman, 5’6” with a thin build and brown shoulder length hair. She speaks with a strong southern accent. There is concern for Sarah’s well-being because she requires medication and may become agitated without it.Although we have received a number of tips from the public, we have not been able to locate her. Sarah’s family and friends are very concerned for her well-being. Investigators believed that Sarah is still in the Maritimes and request that Sarah or anyone with information on her whereabouts contacts Halifax Regional Police at 490-5016.
