At 12:49 a.m. on November 21, police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Spring Garden Road and South Park Street in Halifax. 

Two female pedestrians had a “walk” signal and were proceeding southbound across Spring Garden Road. A taxi cab had a green light and was proceeding southbound on South Park Street. The taxi turned eastbound onto Spring Garden Road when the vehicle struck the two pedestrians. Both pedestrians, a 26-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman, were knocked to the ground. The 26-year-old pedestrian immediately got up while the other remained on the roadway until EHS attended. She was further treated at the QEII for minor injuries.

The male taxi driver was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to pedestrians in a marked crosswalk.
