Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that work to extend the natural gas main on Barrington Street will begin Wednesday, Sept. 17, and will continue all week.
On weekdays, crews will work in the evening, starting at 8 p.m., between Blowers Street and Sackville Street. On Saturday, Sept. 20, crews will begin work at 8 a.m. and continue until about 7 p.m. This work is expected to be complete by Sunday, Sept. 21.
The sidewalk on the east side of Barrington Street will remain open for pedestrians while this work is going on and crews will also accommodate access to businesses on the west side of the street.
Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. Heritage Gas and the municipality apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause.
