Friday, May 15, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists work will begin on Tuesday (May 19) to extend the natural gas main on Herring Cove Road between Arthur and Levis streets; and on Dentith Road between Herring Cove and Old Sambro roads.
For the work on Dentith Road, two lanes of traffic (one in each direction) will be maintained at all times. On Herring Cove Road, two lanes are expected to be maintained for most of the work. Any required periods of stop-and-go traffic will take place outside the peak hours of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The pipe installation is expected to take approximately five weeks, with permanent restoration to follow.
Heritage Gas has plans for further work in the area as part of this project. An update will be issued closer to the start of the next phase of the project.
Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Heritage Gas and the municipality apologize in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
