Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that work will begin on Monday, Aug. 11, to extend the natural gas main on Purcells Cove Road between Pinehaven Drive and John W. MacLeod School.
The pipe installation and subsequent restoration work is expected to take approximately three weeks. Work crews will shut down daily between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
During this time, bike lane closures can be expected in this area. Cyclists should exercise caution when proceeding through the construction zone.
Motorists can expect stop-and-go traffic outside of these hours and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Heritage Gas and the municipality apologize in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
