Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that tomorrow, Nov. 26, the old flagpole located in the middle of Grand Parade Square will be removed. Work to dismantle and remove the pole and guide wires will get underway at 7 a.m. The front doors of City Hall will be closed during this work, however access will be available through the Argyle Street entrance. Personnel will be onsite in Grand Parade to assist with safe travel through and around Grand Parade during this time.     A new flagpole was installed in the north east corner of Grand Parade Square last week, following a condition assessment of the old flagpole that concluded the structure had significantly deteriorated and should be removed for safety reasons.

The municipality thanks residents in advance for their patience and cooperation, and regrets any inconvenience that may be caused by this work.
