Police attend protest GO #20-19630

On February 11 at 10 a.m., Halifax Regional Police were advised of a planned protest - “Shutdown Canada: Halifax in Solidarity with Wet'suwet'en.” The protest was scheduled for 12:30 p.m., however, a location was not known at that time. Police were advised that a blockade was being organized at Bayne Street and Africville Road and would disrupt the rail-lines leading into Ceres Terminal. Central Division and Traffic Unit members attended the scene to monitor the protest. Two separate groups of people took part, with approximately 100 protesters in total. Provincial CN were notified and on scene. The protest was continuing at the time of this report. There were no traffic interruptions.
