Police charge a man and youth after property damage incident in Williamswood

A man and male youth have been charged following a property damage incident at a park in Williamswood Tuesday night.    

On October 25 at approximately 9 p.m., a concerned citizen observed two trucks doing donuts in the Williamswood Recreational Park located at 2240 Old Sambro Road. One of the trucks over-heated, catching fire and its driver got in the second truck and was observed leaving the scene inbound on the Old Sambro Road. This truck was stopped shortly after in the 900 block of the Old Sambro Road by patrol members who noted mud and grass all over the truck and it occupants. Patrol members, with the assistance of the West Quick Response Unit, took the two occupants into custody without incident.   

A 17-year old male youth from Williamswood and an 18-year-old man from Herring Cove have each been charged with mischief in relation to property over $5000. The 17-year-old is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court on November 17 and the 18-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on December 6.
