Police Charge Woman for Theft of Vehicle

Officers have charged a woman following an extended  test drive from a car dealership on Friday in Halifax.

At 9:15 a.m., a woman attended a car dealership on Kempt Road in Halifax and took a vehicle for a test drive after providing out of province identification. When the woman failed to return with the vehicle, staff contacted police and reported the vehicle stolen.

Yesterday, at 12:55 p.m., officers arrested 48-year-old Cheryl Ann Moyles of Halifax without incident at a Lady Hammond Road residence. The stolen vehicle was also recovered nearby and returned to the dealership. She was held in custody overnight and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face a charge of theft of motor vehicle over $5,000 and five counts of breach of court orders.
