Police continue to investigate murder of Raymond Peters

Yesterday was the third anniversary of the murder of Raymond Floyd Peters and the Major Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case. 

On January 7, 2013, at 5:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Primrose Street and Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. An altercation occurred in a backyard at that location that resulted in 24-year-old Raymond Peters being shot several times. He was able to run to a residence on Jackson Road where he took refuge in an apartment. He was transported to hospital where he passed away on January 8. 

The suspect, who fled on foot, was described as a black man in his twenties, 5’8”, with a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue hoodie and black pants.

Investigators believe there are people who have information about this incident who have not come forward. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020.
