Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the rightful owner of a signed baseball that was recovered following a traffic stop in Dartmouth earlier this month.

On July 2, officers arrested two men following a theft from a motor vehicle on Morris Drive. Officers located a signed white Rawlings baseball enclosed in a plastic case that did not belong to the suspects and was not stolen from the vehicle involved in the call. Review of police records failed to locate the rightful owner of the baseball.  It bears the signature of a well-known major league player in black ink.

Anyone with information on the owner of this ball is asked to contact police at 490-5016. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at http://www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or texting a tip - Tip 202 + your message to 274637
