Police investigate armed robbery GO#21-158786

On December 23 just before 7 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a call for a commercial robbery that took place at the Needs Convenience located at 6130 Chebucto Road, Halifax.

It was reported that a man entered the store, produced a silver handgun and demanded cigarettes and money. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken along with a quantity of cigarettes. The suspect fled the store traveling on foot southbound on Windsor Street. Police Patrol and a K-9 officer searched the area, but the suspect has not yet been located. No one was injured in the robbery.

Staff described the suspect to police as being a Caucasian man who is 5'7" tall with an average build who was wearing a black jacket with white trim, black toque, black face mask, plaid pants and black shoes.

The investigation is in its early stages. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or video from the area to call 902-490-5020.
