Police investigate assault on transit driver

Police are investigating the assault of a transit driver that occurred in Dartmouth last week.

On May 19 at approximately 3:30 p.m. officers responded to the report of a Halifax Transit driver who had been assaulted while the bus was stopped in the 100 block of Wyse Road.  A group who had been causing a disturbance on the bus while it was stopped at the Halifax Transit bridge terminal was asked to leave the bus by Halifax Transit staff. Two youths, who were with the group, ran to the next stop and got back on the bus through the back doors as other passengers were exiting. The youths assaulted the driver then fled the area on foot. The driver was treated at the scene for his injuries by EHS.

The first suspect is described as a Black male youth in his late teens, with short dreadlocks, wearing a white sweater, blue jeans, sunglasses, and a medical mask.

 The second suspect is described as a Black female youth in her late teens wearing a black top and pink leggings.
