Police investigate attempted robbery

Police are investigating an attempted robbery which occurred yesterday in Halifax.

At 3:45 p.m., a man was approached by a male suspect in the parking lot of Bedford Place Mall. The suspect demanded the victim’s money and produced what appeared to be a handgun. The victim refused to turn over any money and became engaged in a brief struggle with the suspect. The suspect left without taking anything and was picked up by a silver car that left the area inbound on the Bedford Highway. The victim was not injured. 

Officers are looking for two suspects: the robber is described as a white man, 18-20-years-old, 5’7”, 160 lbs., wearing a blue and white multi-colored jacket, dark shirt and black ski mask; the driver of the vehicle is described as a white man in his early 20’s, 200 lbs., clean shaven, light-colored hair and wearing a light-colored jacket.

At this time, officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section are in the early stages of the investigation.
