Two suspects are in custody following a break and enter in Dartmouth this morning.
At 4:04 a.m., police responded to the 0-100 block of Mountain Avenue for a break and enter in progress. Two residents were home in their apartment when two male suspects armed with a firearm entered the apartment and demanded cash and personal property. The victims were not injured during the incident and were able to call police while the suspects were still in the residence.
At 4:12 a.m., officers located one of the suspects in the backyard of the apartment building and he was taken into custody without incident. After a foot pursuit by patrol officers and a K-9 Unit, the second suspect was taken into custody in the 0-100 block of Chrysler Avenue. The firearm was also recovered in the Mountain Avenue apartment building.
An 18-year old man and 17-year-old boy, both from Dartmouth, are currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending.
