Police Investigating Assault - Mont and Hillary Streets

(2:10 p.m.)Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault that took place this morning in Halifax.

At 6:22 a.m., police responded to a report of an assault taking place at the corner of Mont and Hillary Streets. Upon arrival, officers located a 46-year-old man who had been assaulted by a man with a bat. The victim was taken to hospital with significant injuries that are not believed to life-threatening. The suspect is described as a white man with a skinny build, possibly bald or with very short hair. He left the area in a newer model dark blue Mitsubishi car. Investigators are waiting to interview the victim but at this time it’s believed the incident is not random.
