Police Investigating Assaut

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault that took place earlier this morning in downtown Halifax.

At 3:52 a.m., police responded to a physical disturbance in the 5100 block of Sackville Street. When officers arrived, a 26-year-old man who had been struck with a bottle was found lying on the sidewalk. Another man was observed fleeing from the area. He was detained, and both he and the victim were taken to hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. The investigation is on-going and at this time no charges have been laid.
