Police Investigating Attempted Abduction

(4:02 p.m.) Halifax Regional Police is investigating an attempted abduction that occurred shortly before 10 a.m. in Halifax.A masked man entered a residence on Oakland Road armed with a firearm and attempted to forcibly remove an adult male occupant. The victim was able to force the suspect to flee and he contacted police. An extensive search of the area was conducted with the help of the K9 Unit; however police were unable to locate the suspect. The victim was not injured during the incident.The suspect is described as a white adult male, 6’ tall with a slim build. At the time, he was wearing a black mask, black jacket and dark baggy pants. A small black vehicle was also observed in the area but police have yet to determine if it connected to the incident.Investigators assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw someone matching the description of the suspect.
