Police Investigating Sexual Assault

Officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit are investigating a sexual assault that took place Saturday night in Dartmouth.

On August 4 at approximately 10:30 p.m., a 16-year-old female was walking through the Dartmouth Common when she was approached by a man. He tried to speak with her causing her to become concerned. She began to walk faster and the man grabbed her, pushed her to the ground and began touching her in a sexual manner. She screamed and struggled with the man causing him to flee on foot towards Alderney Drive. The victim went home and called police.

The suspect is described as white man, 25-30-years-old, 5’10”, with a medium build and light coloured buzz cut hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing jeans and a white or light coloured t-shirt.
