Police are currently investigating the suspicious death of a baby boy.

At 9:16 p.m. on August 19, Halifax Regional Police responded to an unknown trouble call at a unit in an apartment building in the 200 block of Windmill Road in Dartmouth. A 3-month-old baby boy was located in medical distress and was unresponsive. The baby was taken to the hospital by EHS, where he later died on August 21. An autopsy was conducted on August 22 by the Medical Examiner; however, further testing is needed to determine the manner of death. Next of kin were updated yesterday, and investigators have been speaking with family members regarding the circumstances that led to the baby’s death.
