Police investigating two assaults

Halifax Regional Police is investigating two separate assaults which occurred over the past two nights in the same area of uptown Halifax. These incidents occurred at approximately the same hour of night.

On Friday, May 29 at 1:35 a.m., police responded to Brunswick Street at Cornwallis Street, where a male had been assaulted by three to four males. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He remains in hospital at this time.

The suspects are described as black males in their early twenties.

A second incident occurred on Saturday, May 30 at 1:30 a.m. in the area of Brunswick Street at Gerrish Street. A male and a female were walking in that area when attacked by two suspects. Both victims were treated and released by EHS.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 5’7” with athletic build wearing a reddish-orange shirt. The second suspect is described as a black male, 5’9” with crooked teeth.
