On February 2 at 2:11 p.m., patrol members conducted a traffic stop in the 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. With the assistance of the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and the East Quick Response Unit, a quantity of crack cocaine, marihuana, cell phones, hydromorphone pills and a sum of Canadian currency were located and the driver was taken into custody.
As a result of the traffic stop, 20-year-old Nathaniel Dominic White of Halifax faces charges of trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in hydromorphone and possession of cannabis. He appeared in Dartmouth court today.
He was also charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for driving a vehicle while his license was suspended and driving a vehicle without a motor vehicle liability policy.
During the traffic stop, a man known to the driver approached the scene and interfered during the arrest. As a result, a 22-year old Dartmouth man was arrested for obstructing police and was later released on an appearance notice to appear in Dartmouth court at a later date.
