Police release names in relation to weapons charges

RCMP/HRP Integrated General Investigation Section (GIS) laid anadditional eleven charges in relation to the Attempted Murderinvestigation on Wendybrook Drive in Tantallon on January 17th, 2012.Last evening, GIS members arrested and charged 20-year-old Wayne Caseyfrom Timberlea with Robbery using a Firearm and ten additionalweapons-related offences. This arrest is in addition to the seven adultmales and one male youth charged on February 3, 2012 with a total of 48charges. The total number of charges is now 59.Casey was held in custody and was to appear in Halifax Provincial Courttoday to answer to these charges.

Members of the RCMP/HRP Integrated General Investigation Section (GIS) have arrested seven adult males and one male youth and laid a total of 48 charges, including Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Robbery using a Firearm, and several other weapons-related charges.Integrated GIS members executed search warrants and conducted five searches over the past 24 hours at locations on Charles Road, Sugar Maple Drive and Eisenor Street in Timberlea, St. Margaret's Bay Road in Lakeside, and Carrington Place in Halifax. The searches were in relation to several ongoing investigations including an Attempted Murder on Wendybrook Drive in Tantallon on January 17th, 2012, a Robbery on Evans Avenue in Halifax on January 17th, 2012, and a Stabbing on Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth on December 29th, 2011. During the searches, police seized one shotgun, ammunition, and three bullet-proof vests.
