Police request public’s assistance identifying suspect in sexual assault

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man in relation to a sexual assault that occurred yesterday in Halifax.

At approximately 12:20 p.m. a man approached a woman not known to him in Point Pleasant Park near the Young Avenue entrance and attempted to touch her in a sexual manner.

The suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion in his late 20’s to early 30's, slim build, 5’8”, with a closely shaved/groomed beard. At the time of the incident, the man was wearing dark pants and a baseball cap and had a dark backpack.
