Police requesting public’s help – hit & run collision – UPDATE
A driver sought by police after leaving the scene of a collision on Christmas Day has been arrested and is now facing charges.
On December 25 at 00:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Windsor Street for a report of an unoccupied vehicle that had been struck. Officers located a Nissan Sentra with heavy damage in the middle of the road. It was determined that the Nissan was parked on the street and was hit by another vehicle that fled the area. There were no reported injuries and the collision was not reported to police. At the scene, officers also located the lower front grill of the vehicle that fled and released a picture of the grill on December 29.
Yesterday at 10:05 a.m., a local car rental agency contacted police after one of their rented Chrysler Town and Country was not returned by the renter as per their rental agreement. At 12:55 p.m., an RCMP member working at Halifax Stanfield International Airport observed a vehicle with severe front end damage in the airport parkade. It was determined that it was the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run and also the stolen vehicle. The lone female occupant was arrested at the scene and her cat was seized by Animal Control.
The 38-year-old woman was held in custody overnight. She will appear in Halifax Provincial Court later today to face charges of theft of motor vehicle over $5,000, possession of stolen goods over $5,000 and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.

Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s help in identifying a driver and vehicle involved in a hit and run collision that occurred in the early hours of Christmas day in Halifax.
On December 25 at 00:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Windsor Street for a report of an unoccupied vehicle that had been struck. Officers located a Nissan Sentra with heavy damages in the middle of the road. It was determined that the Nissan was parked on the street and was hit by another vehicle that fled the area. The Nissan sustained extensive damages and was located over 20 meters from where it was parked. There were no reported injuries and the collision was not reported to police. Officers also located the lower front grill of the run vehicle at the scene.
The run vehicle is believed to be a 2014 or 2015 Chrysler Town and Country and would have extensive damages to its front passenger side. Anyone with information on the identity of driver and/or the collision is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5016.
