Shortly before 3 am officers responded to a report of a woman stating she was sprayed with a sensory irritant in the area of Point Pleasant Drive and Tower Road. Officers were onscene quickly and arrested a 48 year old Halifax woman in the area.The 32 year old female victim was assessed at the scene and transported to hospital. The investigation is continuing at the time of this report. Charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of weapon dangerous and assault with a weapon are anticipated when the suspect, a 48 year old woman, appears in Halifax Provincial court later today.
