At approximately 12 p.m. on February 2, police attended the Dartmouth side of the Macdonald Bridge where approximately 100 protesters had come together for an Indigenous Rights March to Halifax.  Halifax Regional Police assisted the Halifax Harbour Bridges patrol officers in temporarily closing the MacDonald Bridge as the protesters marched across to the Halifax side. Police shut down parts of Gottingen Street as well to maintain public safety as the protesters continued to march to a location at the 2200 block of Gottingen Street.

The protest was peaceful and police encountered no issues with the protesters. We would like to thank all members of the public for their assistance and patience during this period of traffic interruption.
