On August 3 at 3:30 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a 911 call from a witness who saw a vehicle weaving on the Bedford Highway and collided with a pole. The driver, a man, left the scene on foot and was arrested a short distance away. The man refused the breath demand and was subsequently charged with firearms offences and violation of a prohibition order after a loaded handgun was located in the vehicle. The 28-year-old suspect will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Tuesday.
