Thursday, August 21, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Powder Mill Lake Bridge on Rocky Lake Drive will reopen to traffic, pedestrians and cyclists at 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22.

Road construction in the surrounding area will continue until the first week of September. This work could result in daily stop-and-go traffic between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. until the project is complete.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. Cyclists should be aware that although the bridge will be open, the road is not yet paved and may be difficult to maneuver on a bicycle.

The municipality recognizes that Rocky Lake Drive is a busy stretch and a popular route for cyclists, and apologizes for any inconvenience this work may cause. These upgrades are necessary to ensure a safe and smooth trip for all residents.
