Regional Council Swearing-in Ceremony

Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – Members of Regional Council will be officially sworn in at a ceremony on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Nova Scotia Community College Waterfront Campus.

The public is welcome to attend the ceremony in the Presentation Theatre; however, please note there is limited seating. Overflow seating capacity will be provided in an adjacent room equipped with an audio-visual feed.

Free parking will be available in the main parking lot.

Doors will be open to the public at 5:30 p.m.

Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Jacques Dubé, Chief Administrative Officer for Halifax Regional Municipality.

The Honourable Justice Suzanne Hood – a former municipal solicitor with the old City of Dartmouth – will officially swear in members of Regional Council.

Opening remarks will be provided by His Honour Brigadier-General The Honourable J.J. Grant, CMM, ONS, CD (Ret'd), Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia.

Mayor Mike Savage will be out of the country in his capacity as president of the World Energy Cities Partnership, and will be sworn-in at a later date.
