Registration now open for the Step Up To Leadership Spring 2018 Course

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that registration for the Step Up To Leadership course beginning in March, is now open.

In its thirteenth year, the free, nine-week course is being offered to both new and existing volunteers who are interested in developing leadership skills and building stronger communities. Sessions range from teambuilding, conflict resolution and understanding the importance of diversity to public speaking, planning and how to conduct meetings.

Courses are being offered on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings beginning in late March.

When: Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. beginning March 20 and running nine consecutive weeks
Where:
Captain Spry Community Centre, Spryfield 

When: Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. beginning March 21 and running nine consecutive weeks
Where:
Fenerty Room, Sackville Public Library 

The course has been designed to provide volunteers with the necessary tools and techniques to create effective leadership and community involvement.
