Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Agricola Street in Halifax will be closed to vehicles between Cunard Street and Young Street on Sunday, Sept. 21for Switch: Open Streets.
The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. No vehicles will be permitted on that section of Agricola Street during that time. Motorists are encouraged to take an alternative route if they need to travel through that area.
Switch: Open Streets is about opening streets to a greater variety of transportation modes. The event is meant to encourage people to enjoy the Halifax region in a new way by walking, biking and moving around safely and comfortably on a two-kilometre route.
