Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Newton Avenue will be closed on Monday, Sept. 22 to accommodate street paving (weather dependant). The paving will affect traffic on Quinpool and Chebucto roads.
The work will start at 7 a.m. on Monday at the Quinpool Road end of Newton Avenue. This will require a lane drop in the outbound (westbound) lanes on Quinpool Road. The inbound lanes should not be affected.
In the evening, the work will reach the Chebucto Road end of Newton Avenue. This will require lane drops in the inbound (eastbound) lanes on Chebucto Road. The outbound lanes will not be affected.
This work is expected to take one day but is weather dependant. Rain dates are set for Tuesday, Sept. 23 or Wednesday, Sept. 24.
The municipality apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this closure or the construction work may cause.
