Friday, June 20, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to plan their travel accordingly on Saturday, June 21, as there will be road closures and heavy traffic associated with the Multifest Parade in downtown Halifax.
The parade route includes Bell Road, South Park Street, Spring Garden Road, Barrington Street and Morris Street, with floats and participants dispersing on Lower Water Street at the end of the event. The affected roads will be closed when the parade begins at 10 a.m. until approximately noon.
There will be no parking on the affected streets during the event. Signage will be in place for the road closures and parking meters will be bagged identifying where parking restrictions will occur along the route.
The Nova Scotia Multicultural Festival, or Multifest, is the largest multicultural festival east of Montreal and features many talented performers and artisans who offer a variety of music, dance and entertainment activities for patrons of all ages.
