Road Closures for Snow Removal

Wednesday, March 25, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that sections of Lemarchant and Seymour streets in Halifax be closed until about 8 p.m. tonight for snow removal.

Both streets shut down this morning between South Street and Coburg Road. Motorists are advised to find alternative routes and they should keep an eye out for plows, excavators and other heavy equipment as the cleanup continues around the region.

Limited on-street parking is now permitted in areas where streets have been widened. Officers will use their discretion in targeting parked vehicles that create a safety hazard, impede snow operations or make the road impassable for other cars, including emergency vehicles.

The municipality understands that these road closures may cause some inconvenience; however, this work is required to remove snow and widen the streets to ensure emergency and transit vehicles can navigate the roads safely. We thank you for your continued cooperation and patience.
