A man has been arrested and charged following a robbery earlier this week in Halifax.

On May 18, at 9:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Needs Convenience Store at 70 Lacewood Drive in Halifax. A man entered the store, produced a knife and demanded cash from the store employee. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. No one was injured during the robbery. A K-9 unit conducted a track but the suspect could not be located.

Last night at approximately 10 p.m., officers assigned to the West Quick Response Unit arrested 26-year-old Andrew Francis White without incident on Dawn Street. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of robbery, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, carrying a concealed weapon and breach of probation.
