Last night at 8:20 p.m., Halifax Regional Police patrol members responded to a complaint of a robbery in the 5000 block of Gerrish Street in Halifax.     A 27-year-old woman attended a home to purchase a cell phone from a person known to her.  Once inside the home, the man she was meeting produced a knife and demanded money from her.  Once the man had obtained the money from her, the female victim was able to leave the apartment and subsequently contacted police.  The victim was not injured in this incident.  Halifax Regional Police attended the residence, however the suspect had fled prior to police arrival. Officers continued to investigate and were able to locate the suspect a short time later in the area of Gottingen Street and Portland Place in Halifax.

A 30-year-old man will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday to face charges of robbery and weapons related offences.
