The province's independent Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) today released two reports regarding investigations against male officers with the Halifax Regional Police Service (HRPS) who have been charged with domestic violence charges.
The first report relates to charges against Cst. Jason Murray. These charges were previously the subject of media release on May 1, 2015. The report is being released now to meet the requirements of the Police Act. Cst. Murray’s next court appearance is July 27, 2015 in Dartmouth Provincial Court.
The second report deals with charges of assault and forcible entry laid today against Cst. Tyler Anstey, 34, a 13 year member of the HRPS. These relate to an investigation commenced on June 16, 2015, as the result of a call received from the HRPS. Cst. Anstey makes his first appearance in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 28, 2015.

SiRT is responsible for investigating all serious incidents involving police in Nova Scotia. Investigations are under the direction and control of independent civilian director Ron MacDonald, who is solely responsible for decisions respecting the laying of any charge.
