Stolen ambulance leads to arrest

A woman faces a number of charges after an ambulance was stolen this morning in Dartmouth.

At 11:25 a.m. police received a report of an ambulance stolen from the 300 block of Pleasant Street. Officers located the vehicle on Highway 111 heading westbound in the direction of the MacKay Bridge. They attempted to stop the ambulance but it continued toward the bridge forcing them to physically stop the ambulance with their police vehicles. Two police officers received minor injuries and two police vehicles as well as the ambulance were damaged as result of the incident. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.  

A 41-year-old woman from Lower Sackville was taken into custody and faces charges of dangerous driving, assault with a weapon, fleeing police and theft of a motor vehicle.
