Halifax Regional Police is investigating a report of a firearm inside a public park in Halifax.
At 11:06 a.m., officers responded to a report that a man was walking in the area of the Public Gardens, talking to himself about a firearm hidden inside the park. The park was evacuated and officers located the 24-year-old man walking outside the park. He was taken into custody without incident. The man was not armed and there have been no reports of anyone seeing a firearm in relation to this incident.
Patrol officers, helped by a K-9 Unit, conducted a thorough search of the park and nothing suspicious was located. The man is currently being questioned by officers and no charges have been laid.
