Three Men face Drug and Weapon Charges

Three men who were arrested yesterday are now facing drug and weapons charges.

Yesterday, police executed several search warrants, one in Williamswood and two in Halifax.  Police arrested four men in their twenties and interviewed them overnight.

As a result of the search in Williamswood, officers located a quantity of cocaine in the residence. A 22-year-old Williamswood man faces a charge of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was released from custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.

As a result of one of the Halifax searches, officers seized a quantity of cocaine, cash and a handgun from a residence on Ogilvie Street. Two Halifax men, aged 20 and 27, face charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and possession of a loaded restricted firearm. They were held overnight and will appear in Halifax Provincial court later today.

The other man who was arrested yesterday was released without charges. The investigation into the weekend shooting is ongoing. Investigators in the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information.
