Traffic Stop Results in Drug Charge

A man faces charges after a traffic stop last night in Lower Sackville.

At 8:30 p.m., officers assigned to the West Quick Response Unit, assisted by RCMP Lower Sackville, conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sackville Drive and Downsview Drive. Officers arrested the driver for an outstanding warrant and a subsequent search resulted in quantities of hydromorphone and cash being seized.

Twenty-five-year-old Jacob Netherton of Stillwater Lake faces a charge of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. He was held overnight and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
