Two Youths Charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

Officers with the West Division Quick Response Unit (QRU) arrested two male youths after a stolen vehicle was recovered last night in Halifax.

At 7:45 p.m., West QRU officers located a stolen motor vehicle in the 100 block of Old Sambro Road. The officers conducted surveillance near the stolen vehicle, and at approximately 8:35 p.m., observed two young men enter the vehicle. As the officers drove toward the vehicle, the two youths fled on foot and were arrested a short distance away.

A 15-year-old male youth from Timberlea was held in custody overnight. He appeared in Halifax Provincial Youth Court today to face one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, two counts of breach of an undertaking and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
