UPDATE: Man arrested after woman stabbed in Dartmouth

Investigators in the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a man after a woman was stabbed last night in Dartmouth. 

At approximately 10 p.m. on August 23, police were dispatched to the Holiday Inn on Wyse Road in Dartmouth in relation to a stabbing. Upon arrival, police located a 22-year-old woman with stab wounds to her back and chest. She was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The male suspect had already fled the hotel. The victim and suspect are known to each other.  

At 6:07 a.m. this morning, police arrested a 22-year-old Halifax man without incident at a residence in the 0-100 block of School Avenue in Halifax. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court tomorrow to face charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
