Police have charged a man for a fatal motor vehicle collision in Dartmouth in September.
On September 25, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on School Street in Dartmouth. A car struck a tree and three people were extracted from the vehicle. A 19-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased on scene by Emergency Health Services. A second passenger, a 19-year-old man, was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The driver, Tomas Ryan MacEachern, 19, was arrested yesterday. He will appear in Dartmouth provincial court on February 23 to face the following charges:
- Operating a Conveyance Impaired Causing Death (2 counts)
- Operating a Conveyance Over Legal Limit Causing Death (2 counts)
- Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death Section (2 counts)
- Flight from Peace Officer
