Police have charged a man with second degree murder following a homicide in Halifax last week.
On Nov. 4 at 8:12 p.m., Derrick Eugene Munroe, 56, was arrested for the murder of Brian David Johnson.
Brian David Johnson, 70, was located injured at a residence on Richmond Street on Oct. 29. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service confirmed the manner of death to be homicide.
Munroe was arrested at his residence in Halifax. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today.
Investigators do not believe this incident was random. As the matter remains under investigation, no further details will be shared at this time.
