Halifax Regional Police is investigating a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred in Halifax today.

At 11:53 a.m., police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision at the intersection of North Street and Agricola Street. A 65-year-old woman crossing Agricola Street in a marked crosswalk was hit by a vehicle turning right from North Street onto Agricola Street. She was treated at the scene by EHS for minor injuries. A 44-year-old Halifax man was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Summary offence tickets issued under section 125(1) of the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk carry a fine of $687.41 and four points on your driver’s license upon conviction.
