Vehicle/pedestrian collision

Halifax Regional Police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred this morning in Halifax. 

At 9:51 a.m., police took a report of a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred earlier at approximately 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of Windsor Street and Welsford Street.  A car travelling southbound on Windsor Street turned left onto Welsford Street and struck a 33-year-old woman as she was crossing the street. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by the driver as a precaution.

The 59-year old male driver was issued a summary offence ticket under Section 125(1)(a) of the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
